The farm has been in the Houghton family for three generations now. Ray was born on the farm which was traditionally a dairy farm, but from the 1970's it became a hill livestock farm. We have had many animals on the farm over the years including pigs, turkeys, sheep and cattle. Today we have 130 sheep, a few cattle and a variety of chickens.

 

With the decline of farming, and a need to provide alternative income we were encouraged to diversify. We now have a great purpose built B&B and self-catering holiday business which we enjoy running. It is wonderful to meet people from all over the British Isles as well as those from Europe and indeed across the world.
